Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Irgun Shiurai Torah handles information when you use our website, Android app, or iOS app.

Information we collect

  • Account information: name, email address, and a protected password hash when you create an account.
  • Account activity: likes, Watch Later selections, watch/listen history and resume position, followed speakers/topics, comments, notification preferences, and account-linked digital purchases.
  • Contact information: name, email, phone number if provided, subject, and message when you contact us.
  • Usage and technical information: watch/listen events, a randomly generated visitor identifier used to reduce duplicate counting, and ordinary service/security logs that may include IP address, browser/app information, timestamps and errors.
  • Push information: a browser or app push token if you choose to enable notifications.

Donations, recurring donations and purchases

Card donations and recurring donations may be processed by Stripe. Other donation methods may use Cardknox, PayPal, OJC Card Payment Site, The Donors’ Fund, or Matbia, depending on what you choose. Digital purchases may also use the applicable app-store purchase system where required. Irgun Shiurai Torah does not store full payment-card numbers in the Irgun account database.

For recurring donations we may store the amount, selected billing day, term type, number of months when fixed, payment-provider identifiers, status, and the Irgun account that manages the donation when you are signed in. Payment providers and financial institutions may retain transaction information under their own policies and legal obligations.

How we use information

We use information to operate and secure accounts; remember library, follows and playback history; provide comments, saved shiurim and notifications; process donations and digital purchases; provide purchased listening access; respond to messages; send requested account or follow emails; troubleshoot problems; count usage; and improve the service.

Service providers

Our service providers may include Cloudflare for delivery, APIs, databases and storage; Vimeo for video and live playback; Google Drive for protected media/files; Firebase for supported sign-in/push services; Google and Apple for supported sign-in or app services; Stripe and the other payment providers listed above; and Resend for email delivery. These providers process information as needed to provide their services.

Security

We use HTTPS for network connections. Passwords are not stored as plain text in the Irgun database. Access to protected media and administrative functions is restricted by account or authorization checks.

Retention

Account information and account-linked activity are generally kept while your account remains active unless you remove particular items earlier. Security and operational records may be retained for a reasonable period when needed to protect the service.

Contact messages and completed donation, purchase or payment records may be retained when reasonably necessary for accounting, fraud prevention, dispute handling, security, support, or legal obligations.

Account and data deletion

You can request deletion from the app's Account area or from our public account-deletion page. Deleting an Irgun account removes the account record and account-linked sessions, likes, Watch Later entries, history, follows, comments and password-reset data stored in the Irgun account database. Account-linked access records may also be affected.

Transaction or business records that are separate from your Irgun account may not be removed automatically when they need to be retained for accounting, fraud prevention, dispute handling, security, support, or legal obligations. Contact us for a separate privacy request.

Following notifications

If you opt in, we may store a browser/app push token and your push/email notification preferences. Push delivery may use Firebase Cloud Messaging. Follow emails use your account email address and include an unsubscribe option. You can also turn notification methods off in My Account.

Your choices

You may use many shiurim without an account. Account-only features require an account. Contact, donations, recurring donations, follows and notifications are optional.
